Common mistakes
Content
Generic, sometimes nothing related to the organisation
Not having any logical flow (result of not having a storyboard)
Too much emphasis on one section or the other
Weak application of theory/models/frameworks (just mentioning them doesn’t help)
Lack of any form of critical analysis, related to the above point
6EC513

Sensitivity: Internal
Report formatting – important points to note
Title page, P1
A proper title, not just the module number

You can number the sections and subsections as 1, 1.1, 1.1.1…..
Section headings should be in bold (14pt)
Subsection headings can be in bold or italicised (12 pt)

Report formatting – important points to note
Tables/figures
Should be placed in the main body of the text in the appropriate section, please avoid “dumping” content in the appendix
Try to avoid using unnecessary and generic figures/tables which don’t add any value to the report
All the figures and tables should be numbered with the appropriate title
All the figure/table numbers should be cross-referenced in the text
Key takeaways from figures/tables should be mentioned (the interpretation shouldn’t be left to the reader!)
Reference (not included in word count)
Harvard referencing style to be followed
Citations from well-known databases and/or organisations (IMF, WTO, UNCTAD, McKinsey, Deloitte etc.) are allowed
