Welcome to Module 6: Develop a Problem Statement Based of the Literature Reviewed
and the Identified Gap. 
Now that you have examined several research studies in your area of interest, you want
to identify a gap in the literature. As discussed in the required reading, a gap in the
literature is when there is insufficient information on the topic. What is missing in his
area of literature? Where is there insufficient information? Keep in mind that not all gaps
need to be filled. You need to prove that experts in the discipline believe the study is
worthy of scholarly research.  
As you prepared the outline of the studies you have read, you included suggestions for
future research. These often identify gaps that need to be filled by additional research.
