Transcultural Nursing Teaching, Administration, and Consultation (Part 1) Nurses are responsible for providing adequate care. Considering that we are the members of the health care team who have direct contact with patients and clients, it is only through our knowledge & understanding of the customs, beliefs & practices of our patients' cultures that we can provide adequate care. We can better understand the factors influencing a person's well-being perception using Madeleine Leininger's sunrise enabler. It is possible to view Leininger's cultural care model as a rising sun. The model reflects the influences of one’s worldview on cultural and structural dimensions. Based on the nursing assessment's focus, the nurse can begin anywhere in this model.
Environment and language influence the health systems involved, including the folk, professional, and nursing systems. Health systems in the folk tradition refer to those practices and beliefs handed down from generation to generation. In contrast, health systems in the professional tradition refer to techniques that have been learned cognitively through formal education programs. The patient/client can meet their biological, psychological, and cultural health needs by combining the folk health system with the professional healthcare system.
People, families, groups, and communities respond to these factors differently when caring about their health. Considering these factors is essential for making sound nursing care decisions and actions.
1. The Sunrise Enabler’s Application in Conflict Resolution for Nurse Administrators and Managers. In line with Lininger's Culture Care Theory, nursing care should be provided by contextualizing cognitively based support, facilitation, or enabling acts or decisions that consider an individual, group, or institution's cultural values, beliefs, and lifeways. People of varying or similar cultural backgrounds aim to fit in or have beneficial meaning for each other (Nursing Theory, 2022).
There are three models for nursing care decisions and actions that include social care preservation or maintenance, cultural care accommodation or negotiation, or cultural care reshaping or restructuring:

Cultural care repatterning or restructuring
Repatterning/restructuring culture care includes those actions and decisions that assist, support, facilitate, or enable clients to reorder, modify, or significantly alter their lives for new, different, and beneficial healthcare patterns while still respecting the customers' cultural ethics and principles and still providing a benefit or healthier life than before the changes were established (Gonzalo, 2021).
Madeleine Leininger's theory is based on the following assumptions:
1. Although care is perceived, known, and practiced differently in diverse cultures, there are several commonalities about care in all cultures around the globe.
2. Culturally related care is characterized by values, beliefs, and practices that are influenced and often rooted in a culture’s worldview, language, religion (or spiritual), kinship (friendly), politics (or law), education, economics, technology, ethnohistorical contexts, and environmental circumstances.
3. Although human care is universal across cultures, how care is manifested in distinct cultures is diverse in terms of means, expressions, behaviors, patterns, and lifestyles.
4. To guide nursing care practices, cultural care is the broadest comprehensive approach to understanding, explaining, interpreting, and predicting nursing care phenomena.
5. There are generic or folk healthcare practices throughout the world, professional healthcare practices vary across cultures, and there are cultural similarities and differences between care recipients (generic) and professional caregivers.
6. Even though healing and cures cannot occur efficiently without care, care may exist without a cure.
7. Care and caring are essential to human survival and development, health, well-being, healing, and coping with disabilities and death.

8. Providing transcultural care as a profession and discipline, nursing serves human beings worldwide with a primary objective. The provision of culturally appropriate nursing care, regardless of whether the client is an individual, group, family, community, or institution, subsidizes to the well-being of the client(s).
9. When a nurse is familiar with the client, nursing care will be culturally appropriate or beneficial. Nursing care is provided in a way that considers the client's patterns, expressions, and cultural values.
10. Clients who obtain nursing care that is not at least sensibly culturally congruent (meaning compatible with and respectful of their lifeways, beliefs, and values) may demonstrate signs of stress, noncompliance, cultural conflict, and ethical or moral concerns (Gonzalo, 2021).
2. Engaged in the Sacred Son of Diversity: The Art of Cultural Immersion. Considering society's constantly evolving cultural makeup, it is imperative to provide culturally appropriate healthcare. Culture immersion, a method of educating healthcare professionals to increase their cultural awareness and sensitivity, provides opportunities for transformational learning through direct interactions with culturally diverse populations. It is becoming increasingly important for health professional schools to provide cultural competency training to prepare students for the realities of a diverse patient population. Research has examined the effects of cultural competency training among practicing healthcare professionals and modifications in academic curricula. Researchers have found that cultural competency training can improve healthcare professionals' skills, knowledge, and attitudes, resulting in improved patient satisfaction and outcomes (Clifford et al., 2015). It is an integral part of professional education for students of the health professions to have educational experiences specifically designed to develop their cultural competency.
As a method of education, cultural immersion is intended to increase cultural awareness and sensitivity. Through direct interactions with culturally diverse populations, this type of educational experience provides opportunities for transformational learning (Brock et al., 2019).
The process of immersing oneself in culture is called cultural immersion. Cultural immersion offers an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of a country unfamiliar to you. Through cultural involvement knowledge, you will gain a greater understanding of a place and the people who live there. A growing number of travelers seek authentic, immersive experiences when traveling abroad.
The term "immersive" or "authentic" might appear to be a way to market an activity to tourists.
Cultural immersion is essential to understand other cultures and communicating effectively across borders. We can acquire much from each other and ourselves by understanding different people and their cultures. Today, our country is home to more than 300 distinct languages and dialects, but many public schools do not teach a second language until middle or high school.
Creating a multicultural society that is positive, accepting, and tolerant allows us to embrace multiculturalism and reevaluate our inherited beliefs. By reflecting on what we perceive as normal or abnormal, we are challenged to view things differently. We acquire a profound lesson by studying and understanding various cultures – that we have nothing to gain by judging things or persons we do not understand.
The following actions are considered to define multiculturalism by sociologists:
