Scenario
Your office phone rings. The caller, Monty Jimenez, is an instructor at the Community College just across the way from LiveWell Health Center where you are the Director of HIM. Mr. Jimenez teaches in the accredited HIT programs at the college. He is seeking guest speakers for upcoming courses and specifically wants an experienced HIM professional who can cover chapter 11 in the course text: Information Governance Principles and Health Record Data Integrity. You check your calendar and agree to present on this topic next semester at the College.
Instructions
Create a PowerPoint presentation for the students at the Community College. Use PowerPoint slides as a visual reference for your audience and write Speaker Notes for each slide to detail what you will say during the presentation. The slides should contain general information and have a professional appearance. The presentation should also have a resource slide to properly credit the resources you used. The following resource must be used, but you may also use additional professional resources, including previous textbooks.

In your presentation, be sure to include the following:
An overview of how an HIM professional manages information governance principles and health record data integrity to meet federal and state standards as well as the expectations of stakeholders.
An explanation of the function of both policy and procedure to meet the needs of external stakeholders as well as the needs of both external and internal forces. Specific stakeholders, external forces, and internal forces must be included to exemplify the purpose of policy and procedure.
Recommendations for data integrity strategies that include at minimum a strategy for:
data governance
data management
data reporting
