There are some basic ethical principles and doctoral level research which we will go over in this chapter 2. In subsequent courses you pick up more specific to a particular topical area that you might be interested in. The dissertation handbook also covers considerations concerning human subjects and ethical procedures in carrying out research. We will just look at a brief overview of qualitative research in chapter 3 and limit yourself to the qualitative methods that are discussed in this particular chapter.
