Planning an Urban Community Outreach Center Chart
First, you need to decide on your project. You have two ways to proceed.
Use a sample project charter provided.
Create your own project charter based on your experience or using the project examples provided.
Regardless of the project you decide to move forward with, assume the business case for the project is approved to move forward.
Remember, when selecting a project of interest to you, specifically if you choose create your own project charter, avoid picking one that is either too big or too small. For example, do not decide to build a new stadium for your local sports team (too big) or to plant your summer garden (too small). Consider your existing organization because there probably exists a need for a project to fix, improve, or expand your organization. Remember, a project can be a product, service, or even an operation. Be sure your selection is an actual project (temporary endeavor with start and end dates) and not routine work. Do not select a topic, such as a construction project, unless you understand construction well. Projects may vary from a few hundred thousand dollars to a few million dollars and should last between 6 months and 2 years. To ensure you are on the right track, contact your instructor with any questions.
