The trait approach has not been shown to be effective at predicting who a leader is; however, we continue to heavily rely on traits. Why do you think we use traits so much to describe leaders?
Reflect on whether you have used the two major leadership behaviors in leading others. Which one comes easier to you? Which one have you found most effective? Why?
Fiedler’s model is the only contingency model that suggests that leaders cannot and should not try to change their leadership style. All the other models assume that leaders can change their style at will to address situational needs. To what extent do you agree with either position?
