Engaging in Various Kinds of Physical Activities
Student Discussion That Needs to Be Responded to:
Exercise has been proven to lower the risk of a variety of health issues. Regular exercise improves good health and aids in the prevention of a few diseases. Many people’s quality of life can be enhanced by it. There are various types of exercise. For instance, aerobic exercise enhances stamina, weight management, and heart health. On the other hand, strength training, which involves lifting weights, increases muscle strength, makes it simpler to complete daily tasks, and guards against diseases linked to a decline in muscle strength. Last but not least, flexibility activities like yoga and stretching assist joints stay mobile and function well, lowering the risk of falls (Anderson & Durstine, 2019).
Heart disease and hypertension are the most prevalent at-risk diseases that can be avoided and treated by exercise, particularly in middle-aged adults. According to the World Health Organization, there are around 805,000 heart attacks every year in the United States, or one every forty seconds. In about 1 in 5 people with hypertension, the condition is under control. Hypertension currently affects 26% of people worldwide, and by 2025, that number is anticipated to rise to 29% (Anderson & Durstine, 2019).
As a nurse, I have a big part in motivating patients to start exercising. The majority of them lack time to exercise because they are too busy caring for their children while working up to three jobs a day. Every time they are able to raise their heart rates, I encourage them to move around a little bit. When doing their food shopping at the mall or at their place of employment, for instance, they might choose to use the stairs rather than the elevator or escalator. As youngsters develop relationships with their family, taking up activities like swimming occasionally and dancing around the home for a short while are also beneficial. They should exercise for at least 75 minutes per week at a strong intensity or 150 minutes per week at a moderate intensity. My patients will be more cooperative and have a positive attitude if I am always encouraging them and reminding them that a little bit of regular effort goes a long way. This will lead to improved health outcomes (Luan et al., 2019).
