Introduction
For this assignment, you will have the opportunity to develop a mindmap showing different issues you see occurring in society within your local community related to your career path. You will also be creating a PowerPoint video presentation explaining your mindmap to your instructor. You may select a new issue for this assignment and will expand upon in this course, it is vital to identify important community issues and being a proponent for social change is imperative to addressing societal issues.
Activity Instructions
After selecting your chosen community issue of interest related to your chosen career path, please follow the directions below.
Part 1: Mindmap
Review the resource on describing what a mindmap is and the value it can provide in the learning process.
Access the coggle website and sign up for the free version.
Watch the coggle Training Video on how to use the mindmap program, as it is very simple to use.
Create your mindmap based on your central issue, then branch out with sub-issues that might arise from this central issue. As an example, let’s say your central issue might be a lack of affordable housing in your community. You would make this central issue your focal point of the mindmap, then branch out with other issues this might cause, such as lack of workers, lower economic growth, homelessness, or crime, to name a few. Then, for the PowerPoint presentation, you will build upon your mindmap to explain it in further detail.
Part 2: PowerPoint Video/Audio Presentation
Record a video/audio PowerPoint presentation to explain your mindmap to your instructor.
Watch the PowerPoint Video Recording Tutorial on how to do this effectively (If you have an older version of PowerPoint and it does not have the video recording capability, you may also complete this assignment using the audio voiceover feature. The procedure is the same and you record audio by clicking the Record Slide Show button).
Upload your coggle mindmap into PowerPoint.
Explain the following areas in your presentation and create one slide for each question.
A. How did you decide on the central issue and sub-issues used in the mindmap?
B. What research did you use to help aid in your creation of the mindmap
C. Reflect and discuss how the process of a mindmap might help you in completing the week 6 final project?
