2. Create a presentation that gives a close reading and interpretation of 1 poem. In your discussion of the poem,
• Give us some brief biographical and cultural context. This will require research; you should not draw all your information from the anthology introductions. Make sure the site you use is reputable (check out the sponsoring institution, authors, and look generally at the professional appearance of the site, the level of detail, the writing). You might include a photograph of the poet, a map, or other images relevant to the poem.
• Include a recording of yourself (ideally), or of someone else reading the poem.
• Focus on at least two main poetic techniques or features from the Close Reading Worksheet (posted in the Week 2 Module under Poem Presentation Resources).Show us how these poetic features are visible in the poem and used to build meaning; how they contribute to the internal form of the poem. You will not have space, obviously, to say everything about the poem! Feel free to focus, for instance, on a stanza or group of 5-7 lines.
• Give a final detailed interpretive statement of the poem. Why did it need to be written? What is its message?
