1. Review each of your network connections and open sockets on your Linux machine using “netstat”.

2. Securely transfer a file from your Linux machine using NetCat/NC utility by establishing a Client server Communication.

3. Configure the firewall iptables for the following rules:

b. Block outgoing SMTP protocol

c. Allow incoming RDP protocol

d. Allow output of HTTP protocol to IP addresses

4. Enforce the user to use a password with the following conditions:

a. Minimum length of password should be 12

b. Password should have at least 3 uppercase characters

c. Password should have at least 3 lowercase characters

d. Password should have at least 2 numeric characters

e. Password should have at least 2 special characters

5. Change the MAC address of the eth0

interface to a 00:11:22:33:44:55. Explain why you can’t

assign 11:22:33:44:55:66 as the MAC address to an interface?

6. Change the IP address of the eth0 interface

to another IP address belonging to the same network.

7.Run nslookup on www.duckduckgo.com

and write a conclusion based on your observation.

8. Explain HTTP status codes.

9. For the IP address 231.119.106.0

a. List the IP address of the 8 subnets

b. Mention the number of total IP address that each subnet can have.

c. Mention the range of IP address in each subnet
