Annotated Bibliography
This Annotated Bibliography and Paper Outline assignment will provide an opportunity to locate resources for the Final Paper due in Week 5. Prior to beginning work on this assignment, carefully review the requirements for the Final Paper. This will entail thoughtful consideration of how to approach the Final Paper and will assist in developing research analysis skills including critical thinking, writing, and literature research skills.
You will first create a paper outline.
Essentially, you will create a paper outline with section headers that align with the major components of the assignment (bulletized items below, also listed in the rubric). Your section headers will serve to demark the major components of your paper (bulletized below and in the rubric). However, your section headers should not match the wording below. Paraphrase the bulletized items into section headers ranging from one to five words that reflect the points of the bulletized items, but are not direct quotes.

You will then add your annotated bibliography citations and summaries.

However, you will depart slightly from the traditional annotated bibliography structure by aligning each of your citations under an appropriate section header that serves as the outline of your paper.
The resources you identify through the Annotated Bibliography and Paper Outline will be used to enhance your knowledge of the topic area you have selected for the Final Paper due in Week 5. Each of your minimum of six selected resources should address a different bulletized item listed below (and be positioned under the relevant section header).
· Discuss your chosen group or movement.
· Summarize various strategies the U.S. can use to respond to or prevent terrorist attacks by your chosen group.
· Assess the potential appropriateness and effectiveness of the normal police response to criminal acts. Why do you consider it to be or not be appropriate and/or effective? Should it be combined with other response measures?
· Assess the potential appropriateness and effectiveness of military action. Why do you consider it to be or not be appropriate and/or effective? Should it be combined with other response measures? Should it be combined with other response measures?
· Assess the potential appropriateness and effectiveness of more comprehensive socioeconomic strategies. Why do you consider them to be or not be appropriate and/or effective? Should they be combined with other response measures? Should it be combined with other response measures?
· Include historical, cultural, and diversity aspects of the terrorist populations and the victim/target populations as context to support your conclusions relative to each of the response options above.
· Appraise if additional police powers or legislative measures are needed by the federal government to protect the country from terrorist threats.
· Evaluate if increasing governmental powers to enhance security is worth the potential erosion of civil liberties.
For this Annotated Bibliography and Paper Outline assignment, you will use a minimum of six scholarly and/or credible resources, three of which must come from the UAGC Library. (Credible resources exclude popular news sources like Newsweek, Time, People, New York Times, and any television news source and online open sourced materials like Wikipedia.)
In your bibliography and outline,
· Create a complete APA-formatted citation for each source as outlined in the UAGC Writing CenterLinks to an external site..
· Create an annotation of 100 to 150 words per source that summarizes the information provided in the article.
· Construct each annotation with the following information:
· The author(s)
· The purpose of the article (e.g., An experimental study was completed investigating the interaction of short-term memory and attention.)
· A description of the subjects of the article.
· Conclusions drawn from the article
· Contributions to the literature (e.g., new findings, applications, etc.).
· The relevance to the Final Paper
The Annotated Bibliography and Paper Outline:
· Must include a separate title page with the following:
· Title of paper
· Student’s name
· Course name and number
· Instructor’s name
· Date submitted
