You will assess how some areas of popular culture depict education and educators by reviewing a piece of entertainment involving teachers to see what the larger society thinks or is being provided through entertainment and popular culture related to teachers and teaching.

Select a movie, TV show, or other media of your choice. You will create a 10 – 15 minute podcast discussing the following:

What movie, tv show, book, etc. you chose and why.
A description of the teacher in your text – biographical information, strengths, weaknesses, teaching style, pedagogical approaches they use, role they play in the lives of others, etc.
How the teacher in your text might inform who you are as an educator.
How was your educational journey informed and/or shaped by your early educational experiences?
In what ways to educators take on responsibilities that may fall beyond the scope of their jobs? What is the realm of influence for teachers?
How do teachers get and give guidance to one another?
What are some skills that teachers need that emerge through the course of this episode?
