There are copies of sample MUSTANG papers in the Week 1 folder. Please take a look at these to see how your papers should look and how thorough they must be. I will grade them using a Rubric that you will be able to see in your grade for your first MUSTANG paper.
For these assignments always be sure to identify all parts of the assignment by labeling them MATCH, USE, SUMMARIZE, etc. in your document. As always, type up your paper in a separate document. You can then copy and paste it into the “write submission” box or attach it to the assignment. Remember that spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure matter. These papers should always look professional. Also, use terminology from the chapter and be sure to bold it.
In separate, complete paragraphs, please complete each of the following. Do not write about the same concept from the chapter more than once.
Match one thing you learned about in this chapter to something that can be applied to a job you have had. Be sure to tell me what the job was, but you don’t have to give lots of details. It could have been something as simple as babysitting for a younger sibling (not that that’s always easy!) or a professional occupation you currently hold (such as RN, sales manager, etc.) (3 points) Bold the terminology you use from the chapter.
Use a different thing you learned about in this chapter to make a prediction about how you could apply it to getting/keeping/improving your dream job. (Obviously, if you don’t yet have your dream job, talk about getting that dream job. If you already have it, talk about keeping it or making an improvement to the job to better meet your expectations.) Please be sure to remind me what your dream job is. (4 points) Bold the terminology you use from the chapter.
Summarize one primary level study that was discussed in this chapter. Give the citation, so I know which one you are talking about (for example, Smith & Jones, 2001). Your summary must tell me what they did (briefly), what they found (relevant results), and how their research applies to one or more of the concepts discussed in the chapter. Be sure to call attention to the concept name by putting it in bold. (5 points)
Develop 3 Test questions based on concepts in this chapter (and about which you haven’t already written for this assignment). Two must be multiple choice. One must be true/false. Be sure to identify the correct answers. Also, these questions should NOT test students on definitions. That’s too easy. (3 points)
Your questions should encourage critical thinking, but not be impossible to answer. Please read over “Tips for writing good test questions” in the MUSTANG ASSIGNMENTS folder in our course blackboard page.
Apply one thing you learned in this chapter to the fantasy organization you designed to make it a better, safer, more efficient, more diverse, more inclusive, more enjoyable, or more productive work environment. Be sure it isn’t something you already wrote about for this assignment. And please remind me what your fantasy organization is and, as always, BOLD the concepts you are writing about so they are clearly identifiable as I grade. (4 points)
