HP2030: Annotated bibliography and summary and reflection
Part 1: Annotated Bibliography.
Part A: Annotated Bibliography
Your tasks:
Choose five related articles for this assignment and write an annotated bibliography for each identified article in APA format.
Your one paragraph must be five to seven sentences long and include:
the purpose of the work,
a summary of its content,
the audience for whom it is written,
its relevance to your topic,
any special or unique information it contains, and
any strengths, weaknesses, or biases in the material.
Part B: Summary
In this part of the assignment, you will have an opportunity to put all the resources you found together and summarize them in a way that demonstrates how these articles agree or disagree or what information they suggest about future programs or studies.
Your tasks:
At the end of the document in which you created your annotated bibliography, you will make a section titled: “Summary.” In two paragraphs, no longer than 200 words each, you will present what has been reported in the five scientific, peer-reviewed articles you have reviewed for your annotated bibliography.
This part of the assignment will not define your topic. Instead, you will report on the identified studies and research conducted regarding your small topic and published in peer-reviewed, scholarly journals in the recent past (no earlier than 2021). These couple of paragraphs will resemble a literature review.
Please remember that this is not a separate summary of each article. This summary is meant to present a cohesive presentation of the information included in all five articles. How do they differ? How are they similar? What types of future studies are suggested? What programs or interventions have been proposed or conducted?
Remember:
Cite, do not quote, the articles. – no direct quotes.
In-text citations for each of your five (5) articles
You will show how the articles work together to support the chosen topic.
Use the Part 2 rubric as your guide when completing your paper. Also, review the Library Resources folder for APA and research information.
Part 2: Reflection
Critical reflection is a reasoning process for making meaning of an experience. It builds connections between the course content and the experience. Consider the total Healthypeople2030 project for your purpose here. For this assignment, you will write a reflection on your Healthy People project experience.
Your tasks:
For this assignment, write a 200-250-word reflection on the work on your project so far. Do NOT re-tell your topic. Instead, this reflective report is how you have matured in your research and investigative skills.
Part A. Growth as a scholar:
How have you grown as a scholar through this project?
What research insights do you have now that were new to you when you started this project?
Consider and describe what skills you have acquired or improved on in the process of this total project. How have you advanced as a student scholar? Do NOT write about your Healthy People topic.
Part B. Evidence-based approach to public health
What have you learned about the importance of evidence-based approaches to public health practice?
Why is it critical to use evidence (such as research) to improve public health challenges? Explain your answer, and remember to provide evidence from the public health literature to support your answer.
