Analysis and Response

Select one or two readings from Week 5. Explain the work’s importance to GLBTQ+ civil rights. For example, what motivated the writer to write this piece and what impact did it have on readers and GLBTQ+ civil rights? What type of backlash was there (if any) and/or what type of changes were made (in laws, media representation, attitudes etc.?). These are just examples of the approach or questions you could ask as you write your analysis of the work.

A minimum of two double-spaced pages. This is a very broad question. You can take any angle you want on this question. The main goal is to analyze/examine one or two class readings that stood out for you in some way. For example, the response could compare and contrast themes, characters, main ideas, etc.

The focus is on analysis. Organization, formatting, grammar and spelling will also be graded. Focus on a thoughtful approach and analysis of the texts, ideas, and issues.
