Topic: Film Remakes
Choose a movie that has been remade. A remake is when the story and elements of plot are identical to the original.
You will then contrast the two films.
Find a different area of contrast for each body paragraph. You might choose characters, theme, dialog, mood, cinematography or any other element of the films that seems different between when the first version and the next. Make sure you put the differences in social context.
What I mean by this is that you will find out how the year the films were shot affected the content of the film. Films shot in the 60s might have a rebellious nature. What was happening at the time each film was shot? How does that influence the final film?

What kind of research? Let’s say that you believe that weather is an important factor in the remake of a certain war movie. Is there any research that can be done on the ways weather is created on set? Are there mistakes made in different kinds of climates? Is it harder to shoot film in rain? Is it harder to shoot digital? Are there books written by soldiers that include weather as a topic? Is there a psychology to weather?
Very often this will be from a newspaper, journal, or published books. Each source should have an author, no quote pages or web pages with no names attached. I would read and reference at least three reviews of each version of the film in the paper.
No use of first or second person is permitted in this paper.
It should be double-spaced 12-point font is required.
Begin the paper with a quote, stat or anecdote.
Find at least three published movie reviews (by film critics) as support.
Find at least two books to support your contrast paper (think about cinematography books, books on lighting for films, biographies of the actors)
No Wikipedia or any other pedia.
