I attached the presentation which outlines the entire group project expectations. For this 2-3 page portion you should only cover the challenges section from SLIDE 16 Letter F. Below I will attach the 2 Themes I have come up with for this section.
THEMES:
- “Value creation vs. Control” should be a core theme when entrepreneurs are pursuing a new venture. The founder must decide what is motivating them to pursue this idea and what steps they want to take in order to achieve that goal of value creation or control. As seen in the Evan Williams case, he had two companies that he took two very different approaches towards. This hindered Williams in Odeo’s upbringing because he wasn’t focused on his motivations. He had let go of his control of the company which is what motivated Williams and so for that company to thrive under himself, he took back control and pushed to success. This can also be seen in the success story of Apple and the way Steve Jobs used his control as motivation for building Steve Wozniak’s initially small idea into what is now the most recognizable tech brand in the world. If Jobs had let go of his motivation for the company and given up control there is no telling if Apple would have ever become what it is today.
- “Mistakes = Knowledge” This could definitely be considered a baby theme because of how basic it is but I truly feel this is one of the most important themes for an entrepreneur. As an entrepreneur you are going to have a lot of highs and lows and so it is important to recognize that all the mistake you make along your journey only make you stronger and smarter.
