Biography of a Psychologist Piaget, Kohlberg
Lawrence Kohlberg Biography and Theory.
Insights by Assignment help in Mexico.
In October twenty fifty 1927, Lawrence Kohlberg was born, and later in his life, he became an author, educator, and psychologist based in America. Lawrence was born in Bronxville, New York, in a family of four, where he was the lastborn of the family. His family was well up. Thus, he did not struggle when he was young, which helped mold him to the man he grew up to become. Kohlberg's father was a German who imported commodities, while the mother was a Chemist and a German. However, despite the parents being German, they never shared the same religion where the father was Jewish while the mother was Christian. For both of the parents, things in marriage did not go as expected, leading them to separate. When they were divorcing, Kohlberg was four years, and he decided to follow his father (Thudium, 2021). When he joined school, he was an excellent pupil, and when he graduated from junior high school, it was predicted that he would become a great scientist. Fellow students at school describe Kohlberg as a person who loved adventure, an intellectual, and a rebel. After high school, Kohlberg joined the University of Chicago, where he studied for a bachelor's degree in psychology. Later after completing his degree, he studied for a PhD at the same university. With the help of his academic qualification, he was able to join Yale University, where he worked as an assistant professor. He went back to the University of Chicago in the following year, where he worked in the same position. He also worked at the same university as an associate director and lecturer. Between 1968 and 1987, he worked at Harvard University, where he worked as social psychology and education professor. In 1955, Kohlberg was married to Lucy Stigberg, and they were blessed with two boys. Kohlberg's life came to an end in 1987, and it was said that he committed suicide which was triggered by depression and the pain he was going through. The pain was caused by a parasite that had infected him when he was in Belize. Before he had committed suicide, he was ranked as the thirtieth most famous psychologist of the 20th century.
Kohlberg developed the theory of moral development, which he classified into three levels, and each level had two stages. From all the levels, I find the third interesting, considering both stages. The third level of his theory is post-conventional morality, and the two stages are a social contract and universal principle. I find the social contract stage interesting because he indicates that people in the stage focus on respecting individuals while at the same time respecting others. Looking at the theory, I do not find a time when an individual would reach such points because we tend to do what works to the best of our interests. The other stage that I find interesting is the universal principles, where he denotes that individuals are usually focused on upholding ethics, justice, and fairness. I find the stage interesting because there is no one who can reach the stage, which is a result of human nature.
In psychology, Kohlberg's theory has played a very important role where it has enabled researchers to understand how individuals develop moral reasoning as they grow. The theory has some weakness that makes it be questioned. Some of the shortcomings are that it concentrated mostly on young individuals. Most of his observations were made on children under the age of sixteen (Cherry, 2021). Also, when he was doing his research, he did not use females as his subject, making the theory male-oriented. Lastly, the theory dealt with one side, which was justice but left out other factors applied during moral reasoning.

Movies provide an easy way to get a feel for the conventions of distinct genres, and the materials used to promote Discussion 5
Answer
I went straight to Netflix to search for the horror genre. I have an active Netflix subscription, and I have been watching various trending movies in the past. I understand how Netflix works and the navigation. However, I will stick to the horror as my favorite genre for this discussion.
The horror genre has been in existence for the longest time. It started with foreign success in the 1920s before hitting the American scenes under Universal Pictures entertainment, which established horror in Hollywood. But they were themed under super-natural films using literature as the source material. It's a great genre usually based on the history of folklores with undertones of fear and anxiety (Netflix, 2022). Horror genres are characterized by nightmares, anxiety, the pursuit of unknown objects, vulnerability, suspense, flashback stories, and low-lightening, usually characterized by Red—Suspiria color.
Horror genres have several conventions that depict various elements giving the audience a feeling of suspense, anxiety, and fear. For instance, the horror genres employ unique yet unusual angles to create confusion and an unsettling feeling in the viewer. Usually, the horror lighting is dark and very underexposed with characteristic shadows, which makes the viewers feel tense and scared. The low-key lighting is also important because it keeps the audience aggravated towards one scene with little distractions. Also, low-key lighting is a common convention in horror movies because it helps in creating dark scenes and shadows depicting evil objects (evil characters). Technically, the average human does not like darkness because we have been raised to think of danger and evil luck in darkness.
The typefaces and font include Earthen Parasite signifying a hand-scratched object across a wall. They use all-caps letters, which helps emphasize the frightening movie title that is fit for the movie's design. The posters generally used in movies, especially on Netflix, mainly elicit attention and convince the audience of the thrilling need to watch. The producers and promoters have learned the psychological nature of human attention. They use images of renowned movie actors or classical monsters to capture the audience's attention.
The description of the films is another important aspect of the horror movies on Netflix. They use titles and descriptions to set the context of who the main character is and the story's plot. The descriptions use carefully chosen convincing words to convince the audience to click and watch. It is worth noting that the descriptions are kept precise and mostly describe the movie's peak or climax and do not let the audience know the end product of the plot. I didn't notice any outliers in the horror genre search.
The horror genre film has become popular and continues to grace the screens of various theatres. However, based on the foundational concept of scaring, puzzling, and thrilling the watching experience, the plot has changed over time, and things are different. In the past, horror movies were majorly based on creative or fantasy stories. However, nowadays, many of them are based on real-life situations until the 1890s. From 1910 to the 1930s, the horror genre started incorporating death and mortuary scenes with more real-life scenes because modern medicine was becoming common (New York Film Academy, 2015) Afterward, the genres have been popular, and recently, it has shown development by adopting other subgenres such as monsters and zombies such as The Walking Dead and Z Nation movies.
