Discussion: Proposed Project Topic for EBP Scholarly Paper 

Your EBP Scholarly Paper project topic will first be written in the format of a discussion post on your proposed project topic. 

The project must be a clinical nursing issue that a staff nurse can address. Staffing ratios, hiring nurses and adding services are NOT within the scope of the staff nurse as a leader. You are NOT permitted to write about these topics.

The EBP Scholarly Paper proposal of your project should include the following:

Clear definition of the leadership or management problem. (Note: you may not use a previous topic from another course. See Academic Integrity Policy).

1) What is the proposed need or problem on your unit (this will be the title of your final paper)?

2) What is your proposed ONE (1) intervention that is evidenced-based and backed up by current research (include this reference as one of your three for this assignment). Your intervention should be something new and innovative that other organizations or hospitals are doing. 

3) Locate the SMART goals form under “Leadership Orientation and Course Overview Module” in Canvas. https://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/smart-goals.htmWrite out your SMART goal. 

4) Provide at least three (3) references/evidence-based research related to the problem for this assignment. Note in rubric: All references must be less than five years old.

This proposal discussion will be reviewed by your professor. Please look for feedback and approval of the topic with your grade before starting your scholarly paper. After you have the professor’s approval for your project, you may proceed.
