See Field Manual online at www.yu.edu/wurzweiler First year students require generic assignments across methods (casework, group work, community social work). Second year students require depth in assignments in their practice specialization (casework, group work, community social work). Identify the student’s assignments and learning goals for the academic year. Students who are in the Advanced Standing 21 hour program, students who are in the two-year program or those students who are enrolled in the *BLOCK program will need to complete 21 hours of field work per week. The 21 hours of field work are divided as follows: approximately half of those hours are in direct contact with clients (i.e. individual, groups, family, community); 1 hour of field instruction; 1-2 hours for process recordings; and time for staff meetings, case conferences, educational seminars, and agency recording. Students who are in the Advanced Standing 28 hour program will need to complete 28 hours of field work per week. The 28 hours of field work are divided as follows: approximately half of those hours are in direct contact with clients (i.e. individual, groups, family, community); 1 hour of field instruction; 1-2 hours for process recordings; and time for staff meetings, case conferences, educational seminars, and agency recording. *BLOCK STUDENTS (Block students may spend a fourth day devoted to research, writing logs, and reviewing relevant literature.)
