This is a three-part question — make sure you address ALL three parts. Your ENITRE response should be about 750 words in total. In answering the questions, you may pull quotes from the readings that I will provide to you, but make sure to also explain these quotes in your own terms. May I also ask that NO OTHER OUTSIDE SOURCES are to be used.

Part 1- According to Trouillot, every global project is made at the intersection of specific “geographies of management” and “geographies of imagination.” 1. Using Trouillot’s concept of “geographies of imagination” and Tsing’s discussion of locating “the global” in particular places, discuss how Karen Ho situates the global projects of Wall Street Investment Banks.

Part 2- What are the “geographies of imagination” that these banks use in making their projects “global”? What are the “geographies of management” that allow US oil companies to become seemingly disentangled from place? How does modularity work in making “the offshore”?

Part 3- In class, we have discussed and read about the brute force of the history of colonial systems in establishing global systems of trade. Drawing on readings and course discussion, discuss this history.
