The goal for this assignment is to learn about someone’s cultural experiences which are quite different from your own, and to use those experiences to enhance your understanding of course concepts. You will interview someone (either in person or via Zoom or other video conferencing system), consider how the person’s experience can be explained through the lens of our course concepts, and then write about the interviewee’s experience in an engaging account, citing sources appropriately.

Choose an interviewee who has had a significant cultural transition within the last five years, either by coming to the U.S. or by moving to another country for at least six months. What surprises did they encounter? What differences did they notice? How did they adjust? Focus on differences in human interaction and communication. I

n addition to citing the textbook, cite at least one outside source that gave you additional information about your interviewee’s original culture.
