In this assignment, you will visualize the auto insurance rate by state in 2020. I found this dataset on Make Over Monday. The dataset is originally published on Data World. You can download the dataset hereLinks to an external site.. To get access to the Make Over Monday website, you need to register on the webpage by clicking on “Join”. Registration is free.
First, open the Excel file in Tableau. Next address the following:
What is the difference between dimensions and measures on Tableau? What is the color of the “State” pill? What does this color imply? Is State a dimension or a measure? How about Full Coverage?
Using a bar chart construct a graph to rank states from highest full coverage to the lowest full coverage.
Using the marks pane, add a different color to each state.
Using the marks pane, add the amount of full coverage in text to each bar.
Title this chart “Auto Insurance Coverage by State Bar Chart” and save this chart in a PDF document and title this document “Auto Insurance Coverage by State Bar Chart”.
Using another type of chart (other than bar) that you think is more effective, construct a graph to rank states from highest minimum coverage to the lowest minimum coverage.
Using the marks pane, add a different color to each state.
Using the marks pane, add the amount of minimum coverage in text to the graph.
Title this chart “Auto Insurance Coverage by State [insert Chart Type here] Chart” and save this chart in a PDF document and title this document “Auto Insurance Coverage by State [Insert Chart Type here] Chart”.
