In reading Chapter 1 of Crain, there seems to be this on going argument on what matters most in development, the role of nature or nurture. Here you read about 2 people from the 17th and 18th century that were NOT psychologist speak on what they viewed to be most important when raising a child. In keeping with their ideas, write a small response paragraph where you take a position as either Locke or Rousseau and pretend you are having a conversation with the other person. Pick a point of the other persons position and create a counter argument to that point.

For example if you are Rousseau, pick an aspect of Locke’s theory on development and state what you think is wrong/unclear/uncertain with Locke’s theory. Remember to cite and be explicit as to what point you are arguing.
