Consider budgeting. Interview someone in your organization or an organization that you’re familiar with that is involved in budgeting. How do they budget? Do they use zero-based, responsibility, top-down budgeting method, or a combination of methods? Are the budgets meaningful for the person that you are talking to? Our budget is based on expected revenue. Our school Revenue comes from Property taxes around 70% and the remaining is from Students.
We don’t use zero-based budget, rather our school use traditional incremental budgeting system based on budgetary base from previous year.
The finance and administration department allocates budgets to each departments and campuses, which will be reviewed and signed by senior management.
We use previous year budget to forecast the future and defiantly it has been working well to our school.
