Identify a traditional value or belief that has been influential in your development, such as the importance of education, the value of a traditional family, etc. You will introduce that value in the context of your life, describe the value — both how you learned the value and what it means, and reflect on why it is important to your life and who you are.

Think about the events in your life. Was there an experience that made you finally understand something you had been struggling with? Is there a vivid time in your childhood that shapes who you are today? What about a time when you disagreed with something. How has that experience and your action/inaction shaped who you are? Or, consider an event that at first seemed negative, but eventually turned out to be good – moments, months or even years later.
