Part 1: Selecting a Nursing Task

1. Choose a specific nursing task or procedure that is commonly performed in a clinical setting from the following areas: Surgery, Neurologic, Renal, Cardiovascular, Hematologic

Part 2: Literature Review and Evidence Appraisal

1. Conduct a comprehensive literature review on the selected nursing task.
2. Identify at least three (3) recent and relevant research articles, guidelines, or systematic reviews related to the chosen task.
3. Summarize the key findings and recommendations from the literature review.

Part 3: Development of an Evidence-Based Protocol

1. Based on the literature review and evidence appraisal, create an evidence-based protocol for performing the selected nursing task.
2. Include the following components in the protocol:
   • Rationale for the chosen approach
   • Step-by-step procedure
   • Safety considerations
   • Equipment and resources needed
   • Monitoring and assessment parameters
   • Documentation requirements

Part 4: Reflective Analysis

1. Discuss the following in the reflection:
   • How the evidence-based approach contributed to patient safety and quality of care
   • Personal insights gained from this experience
   • Areas for improvement in current clinical practice
