Instructions

For Lesson  4, you will focus on the following theories:

1.  Cognitive-Behavioral

2.  Rational Emotive

3.  Psychoanalytic

4.  Psychodrama

For this PowerPoint, consider the following scenario: You are a counselor at a community services agency and have been tasked with teaching mental health care providers about a few of the most common theories that guide group work. You will create a PowerPoint presentation and present it in Kaltura  You will describe each theory as it relates to group therapy. Your Presentation should include the following elements:

Your presentation should include the following information about each theory:

A brief overview of the theory

Any concepts that would be important to understand the theory

• A discussion on how change in groups happens when utilizing this theory
• At least one technique related to this theory
• Strengths or Limitations of the theory (Note: consider cultural components in your discussion)
• An example of a population or “presenting issue” would be well-addressed with this theory (and why you feel this theory would match nicely).
