For instance, the cover letter will require you to balance being selective with your information and providing enough memorable, persuasive examples. The resume will require you to think about effective organization of information about your own experiences. Although these documents are one page, and only one page each, every word counts.
In the past, students have been able to use their career documents to help them acquire internships and job positions. I highly encourage you to work towards this goal.
You will generate two main documents regardless of what the advertisement requests from you: a Cover Letter and a Resume. Any additional materials required will depend on the position you seek. A graduate position may require, for example, a writing sample. If this is your selected position, you will include this in your submission as well. If you are intending to apply to graduate school or if you want to use your documents to apply for an existing position, I will gladly help you work on extra documents beyond this assignment.
