Determining when conflicts may emerge with legal and ethical actions is part of the duty of HR professionals. You will examine and evaluate several organizational situations in order to identify legal and ethical imbalances of actions vs. expectations, that is, identify when actions conflict with an organization’s established norms and standards.
For this assignment, you will examine and evaluate varied legal and ethical HR situations to develop suggestions for corrective actions in a 4-5 page proposal.
Part 1 Accountability
Propose accountability concepts for the following:
Examine Box. 3.3 – Case in Point: Cases of Corrupting the Moral Order (Ch. 3, Bierema); and address the following “As an HRD professional, what creative ways can you ensure employees are made aware of the compensation packages of executives as compared to their own?”
Create an argument, as an HR professional, to defend calling into question disruptions in the Moral Order (disruptions to established organizational mission, values, and goals) as it relates to executive compensation.
Part II Identifying Ethical Imbalances
- Select two examples of when organizational values may differ from common moral and ethical standards.
Develop three questions in your own words that HR professionals may ask when making workplace ethical decisions.
