Understanding Current and Future State Process Development

In your readings, videos, and personal experience, you have seen that the world is rapidly changing and leaders need to adapt. Ingram and Lord (2019) state, “For leaders, they induce worry about the relevance of their own organizations and the ability of the sector to adapt and add value” (How Global Development Leaders Think Their Field is Changing, para. 1). Using a systems approach in the business elements such as vision, mission, and values provides a foundation to create supporting processes. This comprehensive approach must then be integrated into all of the core processes of the company for increased organizational effectiveness.

Using your readings and videos from this week, and at least two other sources you find in your research (Purdue Global Library sources, web sources, blogs, videos, etc.), you will:

Identify a process that you have been a part of recently. Some examples include, but are not limited to:

An employment-related process (i.e., interview, performance management)

A customer-related process (i.e., a new purchase, a product return, customer support)

A supplier-related process (i.e., providing products or services to a strategic partner, submitting a bid for service/product supply to a new or existing partner)

• Identify the company that the process belongs to.

Describe the company vision, mission, and values.

• Present a picture of the company’s success and profitability.
• Describe the process and individual steps in as much detail as you can. Construct an illustration of the process steps (i.e., flowchart) using the readings and resources from this week, or other resources from the Purdue library and internet. If using a drawing tool, please include a link to your illustration, or attach a file to your post. (If you are unsure how to attach a link or file to your post, the Help Desk can assist.)
• Analyze the process you have selected to see how it reflects these elements. This is the current state of the process.
• Create a future state process that would increase the process adherence to the mission, vision, and values.

Explain why your recommendations would increase the process effectiveness.
