MAP and ASSESS your existing social networks

STEPS to follow:

         a. Identify your contacts (randomly) by writing their names;

         b. Group the contacts according to a specific network (Exp.: the family members’ network; friends; colleagues/ now and in the past; neighbors; professional association etc.); there are NO predetermined names for a network!

         c. DRAW your MAP!!! You may use circles, squares etc.

         d. Count the number of both networks that you are member of (personal & professional) and the total number of members that are on your contacts’ list;

         e. Reflect on the results: are you satisfied with the present map? Which type/ category of networks/ members should you focus more on? Should you add/ eliminate some of the present networks/ members?

II) Evaluate each social network by answering the following questions:

So you can find answers to questions like: 

? Who are the people I am interacting with most? 

? How well do I know them? 

? How long do I spend on average to maintain/ develop these connections?

? Are there people who inhibit me? 

? What are the benefits of my membership in the short, medium and long term?

? Are there persons with which I can reach the “sponsorship” level?! List them!
