Graduate Student in School Psychology Counseling Internship Portfolio Therapy Sessions + Intervention
This is for a school psychology graduate student for the portfolio of the internship. This portfolio is for the client that I was doing counseling on this semester at a district 75 school (Department of education special education school)
-For background on what has been done with this child, look at the power point I have attached which is the presentation I did on this child., the client you are to write about. It is important for you to be able to do the portfolio. I have also attached the document of her IEP and information on her.
I have attached a sample report of it so you can see how it is intended to be written but BY NO MEANS USE THE INFORMATION OF ANOTHER CLIENT.
-It is a large document but you are to focus on the Sessions and writing the summaries of the sessions- look at sample portfolio for that page 17-21 and then page 33-the end.
Instructions:
-We were instructed to select a client and administer therapy throughout the semester
-For therapy, we were instructed to select an intervention to go by, mine is the Social Thinking Methodology in the framework of CBT Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
-I have written process notes of my therapy sessions with this child, which you can see in the document I have sent you.
– there are several parts to this assignment (refer to the sample portfolio for format and expectations of what to write)
o1. Write the reason for referral
o2. Write background information
o3. Based on the process notes, (I have attached a document of each of my process notes for total of 7 sessions) develop 7 different explanations/ detailed summary of therapy sessions for each of the 7 sessions (see example from the case report of portfolio of another student I have attached). Be very detailed on what was done and use the information from the Social Thinking methodology. Write it as if you actively would have delivered this therapy. Make it up based on the profile of this child (the PowerPoint titled Viviana Case Presentation) and the Social Thinking Methodology which is the intervention used to treat her (see website of it below) These are very raw and actual data of process notes of each session
– Include:
– What therapist said.
– What client said
– What was focused on in the sessions
– What was employed during session
– How was the child’s progress
– Step by step what was done during each therapy session

o5. Do the part of: Brief case study report as well

-FOLLOW EXACT FORMAT AS THE SAMPLE PORTFOLIO BUT USE THE PROCESS NOTES TO WRITE THE THERAPY SESSIONS. EACH PROCESS NOTE REFERS TO EACH SESSION. WRITE THE SUMMARY OF THE SESSION AND WHAT WAS COVERED DURING THE SESSION VERY SPECIFICALLY.
2. Explain the intervention I used on this child: Viviana: which is Social Thinking Methodology related to CBT. Refer to sample portfolio for format and what needs to be discussed.

I put 7 pages- but there is no specific page count. Just need to sufficiently cover all parts of the assignment as it is a portfolio for counseling.
