Comparing AI Assistants Experiment

The field of conversational artificial intelligence is rapidly evolving. In this assignment, you will get hands-on experience interacting with different AI assistants and compare their capabilities.

Instructions:

1.Select at least 3 of the following AI assistants to experiment with:

– Alexa

– Siri (Apple)

– Google Assistant

– Cortana (Microsoft)

– Bixby (Samsung)

– Portal from Facebook

2.Develop 3-5 open-ended questions or commands to test each assistant. Try to choose queries that allow you to explore the assistant’s conversational abilities, not just look up facts.

Some examples:

– “What is your favorite movie?”

– “Tell me a joke.”

– “Have a conversation with me.”

3.Record your observations interacting with each assistant. Take notes on:

– How natural and conversational the assistant seems

– Its ability to understand context and have a coherent dialogue

– Its tone, personality and sense of humor (or lack thereof)

– Any frustrating or confusing interactions

4.Write a 3–4-page paper comparing your experience with the different AI assistants. Some questions to address:

– Which assistant felt the most human-like? Why?

– Which was the most limited? What gave you trouble?

– How have the assistants improved compared to your expectations?

– How might the assistants continue to advance in the future?

5.Make sure to cite any sources and provide examples of your interactions with each assistant.

This assignment will allow you to get first-hand experience with the current state of conversational AI. Focus your analysis on how “human-like” the assistants are and how their specific strengths and limitations reflect the underlying technology.
