The organization you choose for this assignment (or the individual you interview) must have a ’cause’ or ‘mission’ that heavily relies on volunteers for its existence.
OPTION #2: You will be required to write a research paper on an organization that is special to you and interview a leader from that organization. The interview can be conducted either face-to-face or via telephone. Please provide the date of the interview, the name of the person being interviewed, their title, the name of their organization, and contact information for that individual. You must provide a required letter of proof from the individual that you interviewed. The letter is to be on the organization’s letterhead or it can be an email from the interviewee providing proof that you conducted the interview. Please note, you can not interview one of your own family members for this assignment. Option #2 questions are identified below.
OPTION #2: The student is to write a research paper on an organization that is meaningful to them and contributes to the wellbeing of the student’s community.
This project will consist of:
Providing an overview of the history and background of the organization, including information about its culture, and the mission it serves.
The project paper also requires you to address the following questions with a leader from the organization that you interview. You must make sure you clearly identify when moving from one question to the next. You can first write the question, followed by your response, you can write Question #1, #2, followed by your responses, or you can create separate paragraphs when moving from one question to the next. Whichever method you chose, it must be very clear that you have moved from one question to the next.
Interviewing one leader in the organization to include the following questions:
What inspired and motivated you to want to join this organization?
What type of people do you wish to have volunteering to serve?
What is the key to success when communicating your needs to the public?
Tell me how you organize, plan and prioritize your work.
Share examples of the challenges you face when assembling teams of people to accomplish an organizational goal.
How do you motivate others to work together and make an effective contribution to the organization and the community?
How can I best serve your organization in the future? (once we’ve worked past the COVID-19 concern)
Please ask at least two additional follow-up questions that are interesting for you to understand from this leader.
Write your paper in a professional manner with proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and sentence structure (using Grammarly is recommended). The Word Document should be double spaced and should be between three full pages to five pages in length.
