Instructions
After you submit the short story analysis draft, make improvements from your section professor and virtual tutor, complete your own self-edit, and review the final paper rubric, you are are ready to submit your final paper worth 150 points.
This is our highest-stakes paper that will have the most impact on your course grade, so before you submit, ask yourself the following questions:
Have I carefully checked each item in the paper module for instructions?
Have I reviewed the Writing a Literary Analysis module?
Have I included at least 2 library database source quotes properly introduced, inserted, and cited?
Have I included a works cited page with the primary source (short story) and secondary source (library source) alphabetized in proper MLA format?
Have I edited my draft for errors I made in Beginner Poetry Analysis, Advanced Poetry Analysis, and Drama Analysis papers?
Have I properly documented my 2 sources for the works cited page? See the instructions and samples if not sure.
Have I properly quoted and cited for my quotes from the story? See the instructions and samples if not sure.
Have I properly introduced and quoted from my library database source (see the samples)
Have I improved my draft with the feedback from my section professor?
Have I improved my draft with the feedback from the virtual tutor?
Have I read my paper aloud and used the Natural Readers Online tool mentioned in the Writing a Literary Analysis editing item and also in the repetition item in the Grammar Resources section of the Learning Resources module?
Have I checked my draft with the rubric to make sure I have not missed any requirements?
Is my word count from titles to close over the 1,000 words minimum? Note this does not include the cover page, outline, or works cited.
Have I listed my word count over the minimum several returns after my close like 1050/1000? This example shows the student has written 1050 words out of the 1000 minimum. Since this is our longest paper, you do not have to well-exceed the minimum word count, but you certainly can write more if you wish.
Have I asked any specific questions about my draft, section professor feedback, or virtual tutor feedback?
Have I checked my draft with the rubric to make sure I have not missed any requirements?
