Journal papers relevant to the chosen topic. Then review the papers and generate high quality written

Report on the results of the research, and to present/defend your findings to the class or similar forum

You are requested to submit a progress report and a final report per team.

Step1: Select a specific topic related to chapters

? the first step is to decide a specific topic for literature review. The research topics will be

Chosen by your research interests.

? some suggested topics (NOT limited to):

? Issues in implementing ERP

? Critical success factors in implementing ERP

? Implementation of cloud ERP for small companies

? Factors that affect the adoption and continuous use of ERP

? the implementation of ERP in a specific industry (e.g., banking, construction, etc.)

? ERP and employees’ performance / workload

Step 2: Search academic papers of the selected topic either from Google Scholar

(scholar.google.com)

? The second step is to search specific academic papers using Google Scholar or KFUPM library.

? Some papers are downloadable, but some are not. So a group needs to search papers whose full

text is available.

? A group is required to review at least 10 articles

Step 3: Critically review the selected articles

? Critically read the selected articles.

o Find a central theme or idea of each article.

o Focus on important arguments of each article.

o Look at evidences that support the arguments.

o Try to find important assumption that link between arguments and evidences.

? Drawing on your review, also provide your own critiques and suggestions.

o Check if supportive evidences are correct of not.

o Check if the assumptions are reasonable or logical.

o You can criticize by attacking incorrect supportive evidences or tackling illogical

assumptions.

o Read limitations of each paper and suggest how to release them.

Step 4: Complete project progress report

? Step 4 is to complete progress report. The report needs to convey following agendas:

1. Introduction: describe and explain a specific topic for review and then provide reason to

select the topic.

2. Relations to chapter (if applicable): Provide how your review is connected to a chapter

3. Progress date/milestone of your project: Provide specific date of project schedule.

4. Challenges: Provide challenges or problems in performing your project.

5. Related articles: Provide the list of articles (part or all) you search with their citation and

journal impact factor information.

Step 5: Complete final report

? After review articles, complete your final report following the format:

1. Abstract

2. Keywords

3. Introduction

4. Research Study

5. Results

6. Limitations and Directions for Future Research

7. References

8. Appendix (if applicable)
