Surveys Rationale

The survey serves as a structured way of gathering data from a more substantial group and understanding people’s perceptions and attitudes more thoroughly in the broader society. Such an approach facilitates collecting quantitative data, which can be processed as statistical data, enhancing the qualitative findings produced from the interviews. Therefore, using both qualitative and quantitative methods, a complete overview of the multidimensional issues of the representation and retention of African American male educators is achieved (Frank et al., 2021).

Focus Groups Rationale

During focus groups, participants can engage in group discussions in an interactive environment that improves the exchange of one’s experiences, ideas, and perspectives. Hence, through this procedure, it is possible to quantify the lifestyle aspects, expected trends, and public opinions. These metrics can lead to a better understanding of the social context behind the study objective that is investigated (Lambert et al., 2023). The focus groups add value to the qualitative data-gathering process by actively engaging in the process through discussions to get different views on the subject at hand and gain a better understanding of the problem.
