Inclusion has been the major theme of the course we have been exploring throughout the semester. Early on in the course we highlighted the time in our country’s history when individuals with disabilities were not included in society all the way through the final module and the portrayal of inclusion today as seen in Including Samuel.
For this open-ended and creative final assignment and in the spirit of Universal Design for Learning, you will demonstrate understanding of the major themes and topics discussed in the course. Consider the major focus areas of each module (historical perspective, legislation, family perspective, education, inclusion in today’s schools, etc.) as well as the individual module learning objectives.
In the past, students have written essays, written poems/stories, created models, written and sung songs, drawn pictures and created videos (just to name a few). Put thought into your representation and let your creativity take over. In order to receive full credit, be sure to represent all of the major themes and topics of the course (hint: the titles of each of the modules can help you). It is recommended that you include a written description of your creative project that describes how it relates to the topics presented in the course. Please upload your final assignment here. If you created a physical product be sure to upload photos and videos that sufficiently demonstrate the product. Also, the more creative a project is the better, I want to see how you have interpreted the topics we have discussed throughout the semester.
