Looking ahead at the Topic Eight benchmark for my capstone change project proposal, one additional piece of information needed to complete the capstone project proposal is the barrier to implementing structured hourly rounding to prevent falls and ways to overcome the obstacles. Key barriers that could affect the successful completion of the capstone change proposal include:
Access to resources.
Lack of financial and human resources.
Lack of knowledge and skills.
Time constraints.
Organization readiness to implement the change (Pitsillidou et al., 2021).
The solution to addressing the barriers is creating more awareness of the benefits and costs of implementing the project through the cost-benefit analysis. Provide education on the implementation process, which could be done through PowerPoint Presentations or video simulations. Meet with leaders and management to discuss funding and other resources needed to implement the project (Pitsillidou et al., 2021).
- One topic area that needs review and revision is the proposed implementation plan and outcome measurements. The communication strategy will be refined to ensure the message is delivered concisely and consistently to all relevant stakeholders. Also, the budget will be revised to provide a realistic cost associated with implementing the hourly rounding intervention, including additional staff needed to implement the program, training materials, and technology required (Mohamed et al., 2024). The timeline with which to implement the program will be revisited to ensure the timeline is feasible, considering the time needed to train personnel, resource availability, and time to convince stakeholders and have them support the project (Mohamed et al., 2024). Additional feedback from peers on the clarity of the problem of falls in healthcare facilities and the hourly rounding intervention to address the issue, including its significance, is needed. Also, support for evidence-based intervention is another area of peer support I will examine (Mohamed et al., 2024).
