12pt Times New Roman using the preferred citation format of your field. Otherwise, use the Chicago manual of style citation format. (5pts, not including a lack of citation. That would be plagiarism, of course)

Avoid sources such as Wikipedia, try reference sources like Grove Music Online through the music library’s site. You may use other reviews, critiques, or sources depending on the style or genre of the performance.

The first section of your review should be focused on introductory and relevant background on the music and performance. What is the music being performed? Who is performing it? This may include but is not limited to further investigation of the composer, songwriter, narrative, style, genre, origins, etc…

The second section should critically evaluate the performance. This goes beyond it was “GOOD” or it was “BAD”. How was the music presented? How might it relate to the background of the music? With what you have found in your research, do you notice anything significant, interesting, or meaningful in this performance?
