Students will choose two countries located in the Middle East (excluding Turkey, Iran and Egypt), then generate an analytical comparison of the status of women in these two countries.

For each country, you can discuss its political history and the development of the women’s movement, women’s rights laws, women’s political participation, women’s economic participation, education access, challenges that women’s rights activists face and the current conditions of women or any other related topic you would like to research. The focus of your comparison can be contemporary, historical or both.

The final paper should be 6 to 10 pages, double-spaced, using 12-point Times New Roman Font and 1-inch margins. Bibliography and MLA citation required.

Topic: Lifestyles of Women in UAE vs. Saudi Arabia. Talk about the different types of laws that women have in each country, for example, talk about the similarities and differences that women have with personal status laws, divorce laws, family laws, marriage laws, reproductive rights, educational rights, property & financial rights, political rights and employment rights.
