Star Schema and Power BI

Part 1:

Instructions:

1- Go to the following link: https://www.mysqltutorial.org/getting-started-with-mysql/mysql-sample-database/Links to an external site.

2- Read the web page and click on Download the MySQL Sample Database button

3- Extract the downloaded folder

4- Open MySQL Workbench and run the SQL script from the extracted folder

5- A schema called classic models should appear in the left panel of MySQL workbench

6- Use the reverse engineering feature available in the MySQL Workbench to generate an ER diagram for the classic models schema

7- Study the ER diagram and convert it into a star schema.

8- You can use Power BI like we did in class, or you can use any other tool that allows you to create diagrams

What to turn in:

A Word document with both the ER diagram of the classic model’s  schema and the equivalent star schema. Please provide some context and  description of your work. This can be one paragraph describing what I am  looking at in the document. 

Part 2:

Instructions:

In Power BI implement the start schema you designed in the previous assignment. 

What to turn in:

A .pbix file. The saved file from PowerBI.

A screenshot of your star schema model view from PowerBI.

Notes:

Please  implement the star schema correctly if I told you so in the comments of  the previous assignment. If you already did that for your last  assignment, just turn it in.
