In this assignment, you will draw on work from past activities and assignments to create a strategic plan for yourself that is not unlike those created by leaders in major organizations. Strategic plans are adaptive learning documents that are meant to change as internal and external influences change, but they are always guided by core values, just like your life and career can be.

INSTRUCTIONS

Using the detailed instructions below, create a 15-20 slide Powerpoint presentation. 

Personal Mission Statement

1-2 SLIDES

create a 2-3 sentence statement (can include images) that describes one or more of your core values and relates them to your career interests. Who do you want to become and why?

Example: To help students connect to resources they need to build purpose-filled lives and careers. To work effectively with others in a small team environment on tasks that align with my work interests. To spend quality time with family and friends.

Vision

What do you want your life and career to look like in five years?

Write, draw, use images, or otherwise describe how you would like your life to look in about five years. What is ONE POSSIBLE future you can imagine for yourself that is better than the present?

• Think about relationships, work/school, play, health
• SWOT Analysis

4-5 slides

• Create slides that identify the internal factors influencing your journey (strengths and weaknesses), as well as the external influences (Opportunities and barriers/Threats). Provide evidence/examples.

Consider what you have learned throughout the course about yourself, majors and careers. What new discoveries did you make? How did the new information fit with your current career/life goals. What small or large modifications are needed? What new questions came up for you?

• Identify at least three next steps you can take in the next six months to move closer to your vision. For each goal address:
• What is the specific goal?
