Find a beautiful picture in a magazine, cut it out, and make that the center of your visual art journal this week.

CONSIDER:

How might you use magazines with young children?

Where would you locate the magazines? Donations? (Think about developmentally appropriate content in various magazine sources)

What other sources may work for this type of art medium?

1st Choice (preferred): Find a real Magazine. Ask friends and family for help…this part of the journey can be one that in and of itself creative. For example, my partner has collected Mountain Biking Magazines over the years. Imagine how this would give images in these old magazines a “New Life”. (Should I ask him first? – haha, maybe)

2nd Choice (option, after attempts made to do 1st choice): If you have genuinely pursued the above option, you may use a digital magazine. PLEASE add a comment in the submission comments that indicates what steps you attempted to secure magazines. In short, I don’t want students to not take the time to do this important step of locating resources for their journals. It is parallel to the work needed as a teacher to bring in materials for children.
