Weighting Assignment WRIT1 50% Pass marks for undergraduate work is 40%, unless stated otherwise. Task/assessment brief: You are required to write an assignment paper with 2000 words. As a HR manager in a new Oil and Gas services company, you are requested by the CEO to collect all the information related to the laws to Health Coverage in Oman before the operation of the project starts. TASK (2000 Words) 1. Introduction: (20 marks; 500 Words) a) Write introduction about the importance of Health and Safety procedures at workplace and mention the legislation health coverage in Oman. b) Objectives of the coursework 2. Content and Analysis (60 marks; 1300 Words) 2.1 Critically analyse the main legislation governing health coverage in Oman. Write about the obligations of an employer to provide medical facilities and health coverage. 2.2 Discuss and analyse the health coverage for Omani and Expats employees according to the Omani law. 2.3 Critically analyse the significance of Unified Health Insurance Policy (UHIP) in private sector. 2.4 Identify and discuss the New Mandated Health Insurance Law in Oman. 3. Conclusion (20 marks; 200 words) Outline the significant points of information that you have Critically analyse in your paper. 4. References: A list of 10 references as per Harvard Referencing style with proper in text citation. Guidelines to Students: Your paper must be in a paragraph form with a standard margin on each side. The four general parts of the paper must have the proper subheading. First: Introduction. In this section, you must discuss the importance of Health and Safety at workplace and list the main objectives of the coursework. Second: Content and Analysis. Support your discussion with appropriate in-text citations. Third: Conclusion. This section must specify the key points that need to be sorted out from the gathered data and not elsewhere. Give your insights based on the gathered facts. Fourth: References. Make sure to cite correctly the sources of the gathered information. Minimum of 10 sources of references The correct use of the Harvard referencing format is required. Additional instructions: ************* Word count (or equivalent): 2000 words This is a reflection of the effort required for the assessment. Word counts will normally include any text, tables, calculations, figures, subtitles and citations. Reference lists and contents of appendices are excluded from the word count. Contents of appendices are not usually considered when determining your final assessment grade. Module tutors give students two types of assessment feedback: formative, which is given when the student is working on the completion of an assignment or coursework, and summative, which is given upon completion of the module. A comprehensive assessment feedback on your performance will be given after the announcement of the results. (10 Working Days) Assessment Criteria Learning outcomes assessed On successful completion of the module, a student should be able to: Identify and critically compare the main business organisational structures within Sultanate of Oman in terms of legal personality, status, formation and administrative requirements Demonstrate through written essays analysis and reasoning skills and the ability to apply to realistic scenarios using company law provisions and common law principles. Appraise the concept of corporate governance and its importance, appreciating the role of the Companies Acts and precedents in creating a legal framework for companies. Examine the various duties, rights and forms of liability within the business context In addition, the assessment will test the following learning outcome: Identify and critically compare the main business organisational structures within Sultanate of Oman in terms of legal personality, status, formation and administrative requirements. Demonstrate through written essays analysis and reasoning skills and the ability to apply to realistic scenarios through the use of company law provisions and common law principles.
