Professional Speaker Analysis Paper How to choose the subject of your paper: . From a video of your choice, find a single professional speaker (not a student of any level) to listen to. Speaker must be giving a lecture (see below for specifics). . Must be a speaker video that you have found, chosen and heard during this course. (The lectures done by me or those posted on our Canvas site for this course are not what is meant by a found/chosen/heard speaker video). To find a lecture, check out lectures on YouTube, TED talks, cspan.org, etc. . Lecture must be at least 20 minutes long. This doesn’t include any Q&A section. You don’t need to listen to the Q&A, if included in the video, unless it interests you personally. . Format must be a lecture given by only one speaker that is visible through most of the lecture. (The following speech formats are not acceptable for this analysis paper: Interviews, podcasts, voice over photos or animation, political rallies, campaign speeches, graduation speeches, memorial (funeral) speeches, awards speeches, panel discussions, Q&A sessions, sermons, group workshops, stand-up comedy, theatre pieces or book/poetry readings. You will only receive assignment credit for analyzing a lecture given by one speaker that is visible throughout most of the lecture. . Note: You can’t use a speech that is a part of a class course.
