FInal Project
Each student will submit a Final Project Assignment, which will be an original proposal for a public program and exhibit extension to enhance visitorship, the experience, and the mission of a cultural institution in the United States.
This project will use traditional concepts of historical research, combined with cutting edge concepts of public history, to produce a cohesive piece of work.
The project must have a title page, text, citations and a full bibliography in the Chicago Manual of Style Format.
The final project must fulfill the following basic requirements.
- It must be 10-12 pages, double-spaced, with a 12-point font, not including the bibliography.
- It must use appropriate source material.
- Projects must use footnotes and it must include a bibliography.
- The bibliography must be on a separate page
- You must use correct form for footnotes and for the bibliography.
Content-wise, you must include:
- Detailed overview of the project you propose
- Discussion of how your program fulfills or relates to the institution’s mission
- Discussion of how the program fills a need or addresses a challenge in the institution
- Discussion of who the program is aimed at and how they will benefit
- Explanation of the results or intended outcomes of your program
- A brief discussion of a timeline for your program
- A brief discussion of the budget for your program, including why it’s wise to invest here
- Conclusion
