Universities will need to move ahead of the curve of artificial intelligence and new industry standards to prepare students for their future careers. This includes preparation for roles that currently don’t exist due to technological advancements. • Purpose o The purpose of this research is to find tools and methods to foster creativity and hone skills through an institutions’ curricula. This will enable students to innovate and perform at a higher level when they enter the workforce. Issue We Chose to Analyze Cont. • Time Frame and Phases of Our Analysis o The project was broken up into four phases. ▪ Phase 1: Formed the team and chose topic. ▪ Phase 2: Performed research. ▪ Phase 3: Created draft of presentation. ▪ Phase 4: Final presentation. • Methodology o Action research methods were implemented. The process included taking action and researching and reflecting to find a solution for the posed issue. • This Issue’s Pivot Point for IT from “Old Normal” to “New Normal” o Removing silos between institutions and workplaces. Implementing collaboration between universities and companies to encourage learning and creativity to proactively assist students in transitioning from academia to corporate workforce. Major Categories of Analysis of Managing IT & Information Sources Categories of Analysis Information and Data Sources • Strategic alignment of IT with the university’s business • Main References • Main KSU Webpages • Managing IT risk • Good human-computer interaction (HCI) and user/customer experience (UX/CX) • Providing IT sustainability, resilience, and assurance. • Managing IT Projects Strategic Alignment in the Issue Communication • Providing new and innovative tools for students in an effective manner will be a collaborative endeavor of communication across the entire organization. • IT and University leaders will need a strong subset of skills to properly communicate and understand requirements to fulfill the implementation of underlying systems that will power these tools. • Teams and leadership must implement strong channels of communication and regular reporting to ensure strategic alignment amongst the organization. Planning • • An appropriate development cycle should be selected according to the Universities goals and culture but should also reflect a depth of flexibility as new and innovative tools become available or issues arise. Robust sets of planning and structure should be considered, reviewed, and agreed upon amongst relevant parties and leadership. This process should be as exhaustive as possible and consider the likelihood of unforeseen challenges and policies to manage such scenarios. Governance • Regular use of communication channels, meetings, reports, and analyses will drive strong governance in accordance with strategic alignment and organizational goals. • Implement and impose processes of remediation in the event of a challenge or significant deviations from organizational goals outlined by initial planning and structure. • Effective management and tracking of IT metrics with strong correlations to organizational goals will fundamentally support and facilitate the goals of strategic alignment in providing new and innovative tools for students.
